ABOUT ME

I provide mental health counseling to individuals and couples. I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) and a nationally certified counselor (NCC). The practice of professional counseling includes the diagnosis and treatment of mental and emotional disorders, and the use of psychoeducational techniques and skills training. I completed a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at The George Washington University. In addition, I have specialized training in psychodynamic therapy and working with couples from the Washington School of Psychiatry.

In addition to my work as a therapist, I hold a Masters degree in Public Health with a specialization in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention from The George Washington University. I worked for over twenty years in the field of health communication. I have a deep interest in helping distill complex health information to the general public and to develop and utilize best practices for communication.
I am licensed to practice independently as a LPC in Washington, DC, Virginia and North Carolina as well as a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC) in Maryland. I am also a Board-approved LCPC supervisor in the state of Maryland.

I enjoy learning and keeping up with research and advances in psychotherapy. Here are some recent trainings that I have completed:

  • Judgment Free Zone: The Ethical Aspects of Addressing Sexuality and Relationships in Therapeutic Sessions (2022)

  • What to Do When Anxiety Regulation Doesn't Work (2022)

  • ADHD in Love: Treating Couples When One Partner Has ADHD (2022)
